Weight loss tips come and go—but the Ice Diet might be one of the weirdest. 🧊
It was introduced by Dr. Brian Weiner, a gastroenterologist, who claimed that eating ice can help burn calories. Why? Because your body has to use energy to warm up and melt the ice. Supposedly, eating 1 liter of ice a day = ~160 calories burned (about the same as a one-mile run).
But before you start raiding your freezer:
It’s not meant to replace meals.
It might reduce hunger by giving a feeling of fullness.
Too much can cause stomach discomfort or sensitivity to cold.
Chewing ice = bad news for your teeth. Dentists warn it can crack enamel.
Want to try it? Melt ice slowly in your mouth or go for shaved ice instead of chomping cubes. But overall, the usual advice still wins: eat balanced, move more, and skip the gimmicks.
